Arthurs Pass / Tranz Alpine

will experience transport by coach, train and jetboat. Travel through rural
cropping areas and the scenic Arthurs Pass National Park. The TranzAlpine Train
- rated one of the top six train journeys in the world with its numerous
tunnels, viaducts and river canyons - will take you into the heart of the
Southern Alps.
Enjoy lunch at a mountain chalet restaurant, marvel at the spectacular alpine
scenery, meet the native New Zealand Parrot - the Kea, and take a short bush
walk if you want. A Jetboat ride deep into the Canyons / Gorges of the famous
Waimakariri River will take you to areas inaccessible by foot. Lunch and afternoon tea is also provided. Return to
Christchurch by coach across the Canterbury Plains to complete an unforgettable
day out in New Zealand.
